Saturday, March 7th
9 am – 4 pm
Handmade Saori Weaving Studio
Kai is a Japanese word meaning group or gathering. In SAORI we use Kai to describe a gathering of weavers (and potential weavers) to socialize, share, and inspire.
At Handmade Saori, our Kais start with introductions and weaving. If you have your own loom, we ask that you bring it so studio looms can be used by people flying in for the kai or people who don’t have a loom. After a morning of weaving, visiting, and sharing, we will take a break for a lunch. The current lunch plan is pre-ordering from Jason's Deli. Attendees will be sent links and information as it is available.
After lunch we will have a SAORI Fashion Show and the sharing portion of Kai! If you have clothing items or accessories that you would like to include in the fashion show, please bring them. Fashion Shows are actually a grown-up version of playing dress-up and all are encouraged to participate and try items on.
Registration is REQUIRED for Kai, but there is no charge to attend. Please click the button below to register.
We have coffee, tea, and water. Please bring other beverages you may want.
For questions, please call 256-542-8363.
If you need overnight accommodations the night before and/or the night after the event, please contact Sarah at 256-542-8363.
